Allegations of Abuse

Andrews Angel has unsurpassed experience and expertise of handling cases concerning physical and sexual abuse. Our Partners and staff have acted for hundreds of persons investigated and prosecuted for such matters. This has included countless numbers of Teachers, Social workers, Carers, Nurses and other health care professionals.

Investigations of this nature can either be concerning contemporaneous allegations or those of a historic nature going back many years. They are often complex and rarely straightforward cases to defend.

Andrews Angel however has the expertise and skill to properly conduct representation during investigations, particularly within police station interviews and after charge within court proceedings. Over 90% of clients our lawyers have acted for in such cases have either been acquitted or seen the case against them not proceeded with.

Patrick Andrews was instructed in the Old Rectory School/Banham Marshall College case, one of the largest cases of this type and both Patrick and Paul Angel have been successful in getting historic abuse convictions overturned by the Court Of Appeal

Gill Rutherford’s work which was instrumental to many of those investigated and prosecuted successfully defeating allegations made during Northumbria Police’s Operation Rose has been much acclaimed.
